Job summary

Lone Peak Hospital in Draper, UT is seeking a Paramedic for PRN coverage to support our fast-paced emergency department. You will assist nursing staff in caring for patients from minor injuries to critically ill, communicating clearly with the RN team to support initial assessments.

You will work to educate patients and families, uphold infection control practices, and perform technical tasks including IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, and Foley insertions, along with transport duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Paramedic certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of start date.
• Basic Life Support within 7 days of start date.
• Nonviolent crisis intervention within 6 months.
• Neonate resuscitation within 90 days.
• PALS within 90 days.
• 2+ years experience required.

Responsibilities

• Infor RN staff of patient chief complaint and symptoms for initial assessment.
• Assist RN and physicians with patient and family education.
• Follow infection control policies to reduce infection risk.
• Demonstrate knowledge and use of delegated nursing tasks and equipment.
• Perform IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, Foley insertions, and various transporter duties.
