Job summary

Baptist Health Corbin is seeking a PRN Paramedic to join the Transport EMS team for third shift coverage. Provide advanced life support and direct patient care under medical direction, and transport patients within state scope of practice and department protocols.

Candidates must hold an active Kentucky Paramedic license, BLS, PALS and ACLS, a valid driver’s license, and comply with Kentucky Board of EMS requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA/ARC) is required.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care within medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Maintains care appropriate to the emergency population and environment of care.
• Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
• Coordinates resources and plan of delivery.
• Maintains knowledge of each vehicle in fleet to operate smoothly and safely.
• Ensures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at shift start and before each request for service.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness including ALS gear utilization.
