Job summary

CORE Occupational Medicine in Chester, VA is seeking a Paramedic (EMT-P) for a PRN role to support on-site medical services across our facilities. The position requires current EMT-P certification and, ideally, National Registry, with reciprocity proof.

Duties include on-site emergency response, first aid, and collaboration with site safety teams. Shifts are Monday through Friday 6:00am–6:00pm with occasional Saturday work.

Qualifications

• Paramedic EMT-P Certification or National Registry with reciprocity
• Previous EMT/Paramedic or 911 response experience preferred
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification; other certs are a plus

Responsibilities

• Responding to emergencies efficiently and promptly
• Administering basic first aid and medical support to patients per regulations
• Assessing injuries/illnesses to prioritize medical procedures
• Communicating with medical professionals and treatment facilities for instructions
• Communicating with client/site personnel about incidents and hazards
• Demonstrating teamwork and adapting to changing worksite environments
• Ensuring quality clinical standards are practiced at all times
• Documenting findings and treatments clearly and concisely
• Maintaining professional conduct under stress
• Assisting Site Safety Managers to maintain a safe work environment

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responding to emergencies efficiently and promptly
• Administering basic first aid and medical support to patients, in accordance with federal, state, local and company policy and regulations
• Assessing the nature and extent of injuries/illnesses to prioritize medical procedures
• Effectively communicating with medical professionals and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further action
• Effectively communicating with client and site personnel regarding any worksite incidents, hazards, etc.
• Demonstrating a strong orientation towards team work and the ability to understand the importance of team coordinated efforts
• Demonstrating a strong ability to be cognizant of the constantly changing worksite environment and construction site hazards
• Ensuring that quality, clinical standards are practiced at all times
• Documenting all findings and treatments clearly and concisely
• Conducting oneself in a helpful, dignified and professional manner regardless of stress level and personal circumstances
• Assisting the Site Safety Managers and Personnel in maintaining the most safe and secure work environment possible

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Paramedic (EMT-P) State Certification and/or National Registry; must provide proof of reciprocity
• Previous EMT/Paramedic experience, 1st response experience or emergency 911 experience preferred
• Flexible schedule: Days, Nights, Weekend availability required
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification; any additional certifications are a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with client and employees
