Job summary

Halifax County Government seeks a Paramedic capable of responding to emergency calls, assessing illness or injury, and prioritizing care. Description

This position is responsible for responding to emergency calls, at the paramedic level, to determine the extent of illness or injury and establishing priorities for required care; performing emergency medical care in accordance with established guidelines and written and verbal instructions from physicians. Other duties include administering medications and IV solutions and inserting airways; transporting persons to the appropriate medical facilities; and performing related tasks as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and completion of NC Office of EMS approved training program. Possession of North Carolina Paramedic credential. Obtain CIT training and NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800 certifications within six months of hire. Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina.

This is a 24-hour position.
