Job summary

CSL is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures in a center setting. The role includes interviewing donors, performing medical history reviews, and determining eligibility to donate plasma under supervision.

The candidate will provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, respond to medically related questions with the Center Medical Director, and escalate critical situations following SOPs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic training program.
• Must be licensed or certified where applicable; NY RN/MD/DO licensing or reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year of healthcare experience.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center preferred.
• Ability to assess physical findings such as heart and lung sounds.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Interview donors and review medical history to determine eligibility.
• Consult with the Center Medical Director on donor suitability.
• Review test results to ensure continued donor suitability.
• Counsel donors on reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical cases to physicians.
