Job summary

Baptist Health Louisville is seeking a part-time Paramedic to join its Transport EMS team on 2nd shift. The role is 24 hours per week across two days, supporting advanced life support care and patient transport.

You will operate under medical director approved protocols, complete timely documentation, and ensure vehicle and equipment readiness. A Kentucky Paramedic license and current BLS/PALS/ACLS certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced life support care per department protocols.
• Administers direct care to patients of all ages under medical direction and protocols.
• Completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Operates ambulance transportation within the scope of a Paramedic.
• Maintains vehicle readiness and equipment, including ALS gear and supplies.

Administers direct care to the patient of all age groups under the direction of an emergency medical physician, emergency physician’s assistant, and emergency advanced registered nurse practitioner or utilizes approved EMS medical protocols if transporting a patient. Ensures adherence to hospital and department policies as well as paramedic scope of practice.

Baptist Health is looking for a part-time, 2 days / 24 hours per week, 2nd shift Paramedic to join our Transport EMS team at Baptist Health Louisville! Provides patient care within the medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice. Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately. Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe. Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care. Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic. Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients. Assures resources and coordinates plan of delivery. Maintains knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in fleet in order to operate smooth and safely. Assures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift as well as prior to each and every request for service. Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
