Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, a 122-bed community hospital in Torrington, CT, is seeking a Paramedic to join the Paramedic Team. The role provides autonomous practice within a supportive hospital system and offers a strong benefits package for ongoing professional growth.

You will deliver direct patient care across ALS/BLS settings, respond to emergencies, and work with advanced equipment in a high‑volume 911 environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Paramedic in busy 911 systems.
• CT Paramedic License required; BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications preferred.
• Strong clinical skills in ALS/BLS patient care and rapid decision making.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in ALS and BLS settings.
• Operate emergency vehicle safely and respond to calls.
• Maintain licensure and certifications as required by state and department.
• Collaborate with team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The Paramedic provides direct effective patient care to patients in the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Paramedic primary service area. Must be able to respond safely while operating emergency vehicle and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to care for a variety of patient groups in the Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support setting.

Qualifications - External

• High School Diploma
• Successful completion of Department of Transportation Paramedic Curriculum
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Paramedic in busy 911 systems.
• - CT Paramedic License
• - Basic Life Support (BLS),
• - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• - Valid Driver's License
• Critical Care Paramedic or Flight Paramedic Certification within 1 year of hire
• Preferred:
• Critical Care Certification
• Nationally Registered Paramedic
