Join us to apply for the Paramedic OR Nurse - LPN, LVN or RN role at CSL

This position involves evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, administering and supervising immunizations (excluding red blood cell immunizations), and providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including medication or treatments as per licensure or certification. You will report to the Center Manager.

The Role

• Promote positive relations with donors.
• Conduct confidential interviews to assess donor suitability.
• Collaborate with the Center Medical Director and/or Physician on medically related questions.
• Perform health assessments and review test results to determine donor suitability.
• Handle reactive test results and counsel donors accordingly.
• Explain informed consent procedures to donors.
• Manage medical emergencies and maintain emergency supplies.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data and maintain a clean work environment.
• Follow all safety, health, and confidentiality policies.
• May be cross-trained in other areas and required to work overtime or extended hours.

Your Skills and Experience

Education

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical, or naturopathic program. Foreign graduates must have current licensure or certification.

Experience

• At least one year in a healthcare environment.
• Experience in plasma or blood collection centers preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments and instruct donors and staff.

Working Conditions

• Decision-making with moderate impact.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Visual and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks; occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to hazards and bloodborne pathogens, wearing PPE as required.
