Qualifications

• New Mexico EMT-Paramedic Licensure is required.
• Valid driver''s license is required.
• Driving record free of uninsurable violations.
• Must meet the requirements for obtaining and maintaining life support certifications.
• AHA ACLS, PALS, (NRP within one (1) year of hire)
• Meet NM DOT physical requirements.
• Must obtain IC 100,200,700,800.

Responsibilities

• Work knowledge of emergency medical procedures and techniques at their certification level.
• Knowledge and utilization of NIMS guidelines.
• Maintain ambulance, equipment, and supplies in proper working order.
• Respond to emergency calls as an ambulance crew member and transport to medical facilities.
• Provide paramedic level pre-hospital care as delineated in the NM Scope of Practice.
• Participate in continuous training programs in technical medical work and ambulance service/operation.
• Act as a preceptor in new employee orientation.
