Job summary

Norwalk Hospital Association seeks a CT-licensed paramedic to deliver basic and advanced life support in prehospital and emergency department settings, including scene leadership as incident commander for mass casualty situations.

Requirements include minimum two years EMS experience, CT paramedic license with ACLS and PALS, and a valid driver’s license. Preferred: associate/bachelor’s in science and additional certifications. Competitive benefits available.

Qualifications

• CT Licensed Paramedic with current ACLS and PALS certifications.
• High School diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum two years of EMS experience; valid driver’s license.
• AHA BLS, PHTLS/ITLS, TECC/TCCC, NRP are preferred certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic and advanced life support in prehospital and ED settings.
• Act as Incident Commander or Medical Officer for mass casualty incidents.
• Supervise EMS personnel at the scene and collaborate with physicians and nurses.
• Maintain rapid activation times and thorough patient care documentation.
• Ensure vehicle/equipment readiness and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Promote professional image and participate in public education and training.
