Job summary

The Paramedic at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND, responds to emergency calls, informs patients and families, and follows established protocols. Duties include driving safely, assisting ER staff, and coordinating with First Responders and NICU transport teams.

Schedule includes 36 hours per week with day/night rotation and every other weekend; opportunities to support community events and regional transports across ND and beyond.

Qualifications

• 6 years or more Paramedic experience with associate’s degree and advanced certification
• 3 years or more Paramedic experience with bachelor’s degree
• FP-C, CC-P, CP-C certifications

Responsibilities

• Responds to ambulance calls across the region.
• Assists ER RNs with triage and critical patient care.
• Transports patients to internal departments and regional facilities.
• Documents assessments, vital signs, IVs, and patient identification.
• Works with First Responders and NICU transport team.
• Provides follow-up to First Responders as needed.

Associate's degree and advanced certification
