Position Summary
The Paramedic is responsible for providing advanced pre-hospital life support, patient assessment, and emergency medical care in accordance with state protocols and organizational policies. This role requires strong clinical skills, quick decision-making, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls and provide high-quality advanced life support (ALS) care.
- Assess, treat, and stabilize patients in a variety of urgent and emergent situations.
- Operate ambulance vehicles safely and efficiently in compliance with Minnesota state regulations.
- Document patient care reports accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with EMTs, firefighters, law enforcement, and hospital staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain medical equipment, vehicle readiness, and overall operational preparedness.
- Participate in ongoing training, quality assurance, and professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Current Minnesota Paramedic License (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
- National Registry Paramedic (NRP) preferred.
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS; PALS and PHTLS/ITLS preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and move patients and equipment in demanding physical environments.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Work performed in ambulance environments, community settings, and hospitals; includes exposure to weather, stressful situations, and physically strenuous activity.
