Job summary

The City of Portsmouth is seeking a full-time Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic to deliver pre-hospital care in accordance with regional protocols. You will operate ambulances, perform basic and advanced life support, and coordinate with fire, police and hospital teams to ensure rapid, integrated patient care.

Applicants must have EMS certification as EMT-Paramedic or National Registry Paramedic, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain Virginia certification within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1 year related EMS experience.
• Virginia EMT-Paramedic certification or National Registry Paramedic.
• Ability to obtain Virginia EMT-Paramedic license within 60 days of employment.
