Qualifications

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology; minimum 2 years inpatient experience.
• Strong computer, telephone, multitasking and customer service skills.
• High school diploma or GED; preferred related field.
• BLS/ARC-BLS/LPN/Paramedic certifications required on hire per policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate bed placement and admissions for surgical, ER, and transfers.
• Evaluate procedures and surgical schedules for bed assignments and communicate to units.
• Review ER admission requests to determine placement and needed information.
• Process physician office data for direct admits and coordinate with the Clinical Safety Supervisor.
• Communicate with physicians to ensure proper placement when needed.
• Coordinate admissions (direct, ER, inter-hospital transfers) and unit-to-unit moves.
• Maintain accurate, centralized patient placement information across the hospital.
• Notify On-Call Teams for Cath Lab, CVOR, VI or ECMO as required.
