Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking an EMT-Paramedic to provide pre-hospital ALS care and rapid response at Hazleton EMS Operations. You will work in a per diem, variable shift role serving the Hazleton area with a focus on rapid assessment, stabilization, and transport of patients.

You will operate ALS equipment, document care, and coordinate with hospitals and physicians to ensure continuity of care for patients across the emergency spectrum.

Qualifications

• EMT-P paramedic certification or licensure.
• ACLS/PALS/BLS certifications required upon hire.
• Demonstrated ability to assess acute and chronically ill patients.
• Good documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Represents the ambulance service while on duty at public service functions and provides standby services.
• Documents all assessments and treatments in patient care records.
• Cares for patients in psychiatric, medical, and traumatic crises with medical, traumatic, and therapeutic care.
• Operates ALS equipment including defibrillators and ECGs.
• Assesses injuries/illnesses and prioritizes procedures (stabilization, immobilization, transport).
• Drives EMS vehicles to locations following dispatcher instructions.
