Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) Hazleton EMS is seeking an emergency medical professional to provide prompt medical care for injuries and illnesses, delivering pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS from first contact to handoff to the treating facility.

As part of a two-member ambulance crew, you will operate ALS equipment, assess patient needs, administer medications under physician direction, document care, and collaborate with receiving facilities to ensure seamless patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
• EMT-B or AEMT with current Pennsylvania credentials.
• Ability to document and communicate patient information clearly.
• ACLS and PALS certifications upon hire.
• DL – Pennsylvania Driver’s License upon hire.
• EMT-P and EMT-Paramedic certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate medical care to victims of accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses.
• Deliver pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support from first contact to handoff to receiving facility.
• Represent the ambulance service at public events and standby services.
• Operate ALS equipment (bag valve mask, defibrillators, ECG) as needed.
• Document assessments and treatments in charting software.
• Collaborate with physicians, EMS teams, and hospital staff for patient care.
• Maintain infection control and decontaminate ambulance after transports.
