Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS seeks an experienced EMS professional for night shift with West End Operations in Effort, Gilbert Road area. The role supports emergency and non-emergency medical responses, documenting care and providing ALS services in a two-person team.

The position requires PA paramedic credentials (EMT-P) and readiness to handle various medical crises, with a focus on safe patient transport and adherence to protocols. Onsite work with a dedicated EMS team.

Qualifications

• Ability to assess needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families.
• Ability to document and communicate pertinent information using computer and/or paper documentation tools.
• Demonstrates age-specific competencies in care of neonates, infants, children, adults and geriatrics.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Upon Hire
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - Upon Hire
• BLS - Basic Life Support - Upon Hire
• DL - Driver's License_PA - Upon Hire
• EMT-P - Paramedic - PA Upon Hire
• EMT - Paramedic - National Registry Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Represents the ambulance service while on duty at public service functions and events.
• Documents full assessment and treatments in patient care charting software.
• Cares for patients in psychiatric, medical, and traumatic crisis with medical, traumatic and therapeutic services.
• Operates equipment such as defibrillators and monitors for ALS applications.
• Prioritizes medical procedures based on assessment and scene safety.
• Drives and operates emergency vehicles to locations as instructed.
• Administers drugs under physician direction and communicates with treatment facilities.
• Ensures ambulance decontamination and infection reporting per regulations.
