Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a full-time Paramedic to join our Transport EMS team at Baptist Health Hardin. This role covers 36 hours per week with shifts from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and involves patient assessment, advanced life support, and coordination with other healthcare professionals.

You will operate advanced medical equipment, document patient information accurately, and communicate clearly with patients, staff, and facilities, supporting patient-centered care and team excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• BLS certification.
• PALS & ACLS certifications issued by AHA or ARC.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care within department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognizes and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Completes required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the care environment.
• Performs ambulance transportation within paramedic scope.
• Sets priorities for transport of multiple patients.
• Coordinates resources and plan of delivery.
• Maintains knowledge of fleet vehicles for safe operation.
• Ensures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at shift start and end.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides patient care within the medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care.
• Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
• Assures resources and coordinates plan of delivery.
• Maintains knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in fleet in order to operate smooth and safely.
• Assures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift as well as prior to each and every request for service.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS certification.
• PALS & ACLS certification issued by AHA or ARC.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver's license.
