Job summary

HCA Florida West Hospital in Pensacola, FL is seeking an experienced Paramedic to join our ER team. The department handles urgent and critical emergencies including trauma, cardiac, neurological and pediatric cases.

Qualifications

  • Florida Paramedic License required.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of body substance isolation.
  • ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • PALS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care and teaching based on comprehensive assessment.
  • Document patient response and monitor changes in status.
  • Act as patient/family advocate while protecting privacy.
  • Demonstrate safety and reporting through the occurrence reporting system.
  • Demonstrate courtesy and professional communication with internal and external customers.

Job Summary & Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced Paramedic to join our ER team. The department is fully equipped to handle urgent and critical emergencies, including multiple trauma cases; cardiac, neurological and pediatric emergencies; orthopedic injuries; obstetrical and gynecological cases; and other emergencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Practice, develop and endorse customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Serve as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patient’s right to privacy by protecting confidential information.
  • Plan and implement patient care and teaching based on a total assessment and the age of the patient.
  • Evaluate and document patient response; monitor and recognize changes in physiological and psychosocial status; take appropriate action based on assessment of the patient.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the occurrence reporting system.
Job Requirements
  • State of Florida Paramedic License
  • One (1) year of experience preferred
  • Knowledge of body substance isolation
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
