Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking a certified EMT-Paramedic to respond to emergencies, provide advanced medical care, and operate EMS vehicles in varied conditions. You will work within a nationally recognized health system that emphasizes safety, education, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED, active EMT-Paramedic certification, and current BLS CPR.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Successful completion of an accredited EMT-Paramedic training program required.
Current EMT-Paramedic Certification required upon hire.
BLS CPR Certification within first month.
ICS-100, -200, -700, -800 within first month.
ACLS, PALS/PEPP, PHTLS/ITLS within first 3 months.
National Registry Paramedic Certification preferred.
CAAS compliance is required.

Responsibilities

Responds to service requests as directed by agency response plan and uses appropriate safety PPE.
Provides quality patient care and education per policies and state regulations.
Performs invasive and non-invasive medical interventions for ill/injured patients.
Operates EMS vehicles and equipment safely.
Communicates with dispatchers, physicians, nurses, and EMS personnel.
Prepares detailed medical and incident reports.
Maintains vehicles and equipment in readiness.
Participates in EMS community education and outreach.
