Job summary

City of DuPont is seeking a Lateral Firefighter Paramedic to join the Fire Department. The role requires current Paramedic certification, ACLS, and EVIP readiness, with a focus on emergency medical services, firefighting, and public safety training.

The position operates on a 48/96-hour shift, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and readiness. The selected candidate will join a dedicated team serving the community, working at a central station and participating in inspections, drills, and public

Qualifications

• Requires High school Diploma or GED.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Paramedic certification with WA DoH and EMS authorization.
• ACLS certification required; EVIP training before driving.
• Lateral option requires WA Fire Marshal reciprocity within 60 days or completion of Firefighter I academy for entry.
• PALS and PHTLS training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies as Firefighter Paramedic, provide EMS and firefighting services.
• Operate and maintain life-support equipment and inventory.
• Drive or ride apparatus and perform hose, ladder, and rescue operations.
• Engage in public education and community safety programs.
• Maintain readiness and participate in ongoing training and drills.
• Work under supervision of Fire Captain; act professionally in stressful situations.
