Qualifications

• Hold current licensure by the Oregon Health Authority as a Paramedic.
• Must complete agency-provided Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) training prior to independent operation or provide proof of prior completion meeting EVOC 3/National Safety Council or NFPA standards on hire.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Three (3) years licensed driving experience preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a 9-1-1 prehospital ambulance system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents within time constraints.
• Operate an ambulance safely according to Oregon vehicle standards and protocols.
• Assess and manage scenes per ICS framework, ensuring patient and responder safety.
• Provide care per patient care protocols including ACLS and PALS.
• Extricate entrapped patients in collaboration with rescue agencies.
• Remain at the duty station and be available for emergency response throughout the shift.
• Reassess patients and modify interventions as needed.
• Administer medications and fluids as authorized by standing orders and medical direction.
• Document each patient contact in the electronic patient record with clear assessments and interventions.
