Job summary

Morrow County Health District is hiring a full-time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)-Paramedic to provide pre-hospital care and scene management. The role includes transporting patients to hospitals and supporting hospital ER staff within the paramedic scope of practice.

Requirements include Oregon Paramedic licensure, EVOC training or proof, a valid driver’s license, and prior EMS driving experience. You will work at our Heppner, OR location with an emphasis on patient safety and protocol

Qualifications

  • Hold current licensure by the Oregon Health Authority as a Paramedic.
  • Must complete EVOC training prior to independent operation or have proof of EVOC/NFPA prior hire.
  • Valid state driver’s license required.
  • Three years of licensed driving experience preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a 9-1-1 prehospital ambulance system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incidents within time limitations.
  • Operate an ambulance safely per Oregon laws and EMS protocols.
  • Assess and manage scene and patient care per ICS and EMS protocols.
  • Provide ACLS and PALS per AHA guidelines.
  • Extricate entrapped patients with rescue services as needed.
  • Remain at duty station and be available for shifts and duties.
  • Reassess patients and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Administer medications and fluids as authorized by district orders and medical direction.
  • Document patient contact in the EHR with clear assessments and interventions.
