Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a highly skilled EMT-Paramedic to deliver high-quality patient care across diverse settings, operate EMS vehicles, and maintain readiness of equipment and supplies.

Candidates must complete accredited EMT-Paramedic programs, hold a State or National Registry certification, CPR/BLS, ICS certifications, and ongoing CME compliance; CAAS standards knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; EMT-Paramedic training mandatory.
• Current EMT-Paramedic certification (state or National Registry) required upon hire.
• BLS CPR certification required within first month; ICS-100/200/700/800 required within first month.
• ACLS, PALS/PEPP, PHTLS/ITLS certifications required within first 3 months.
• One year of active field pre-hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to requests for service as directed by agency response plan and uses required PPE.
• Provides quality patient care and education per policies and state regulations.
• Performs invasive and non-invasive medical interventions for varied patient conditions.
• Operates EMS vehicles and equipment safely.
• Communicates with dispatchers, physicians, nurses, and EMS personnel.
• Prepares detailed medical, operational, and incident reports.
• Maintains readiness of vehicles, equipment, and supplies.
• Assists in maintaining clean and professional facilities and grounds.
• Participates in mandatory employee meetings and EMS community education.
