University Hospital in Newark, NJ, seeks a Paramedic to deliver BLS and ALS in pre-hospital settings, coordinating with EMS team under MCP and EMS Supervisor. The role emphasizes safe patient transport and thorough documentation, representing the hospital with professionalism.

You will respond to emergencies for all ages in diverse conditions, complete required reports, and support EMS operations while upholding University Hospital's commitment to patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of EMS experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of EMS driving experience with a clean driving record.
• CEVO (Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator) training course preferred.
• Valid PHTLS (Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support) or BTLS (Basic Trauma Life Support) provider card preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
• Previous experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides and directs both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) in the pre-hospital setting
• Works in coordination with EMS team members under the direction of a licensed Medical Control Physician (MCP) and EMS Supervisor
• Responds to emergencies involving patients of all ages and backgrounds, in all weather and environmental conditions
• Uses appropriate equipment and techniques to assess, treat, lift, and safely transport patients
• Transports patients to appropriate medical facilities based on condition and care needs
• Accurately completes all required reports and documentation
• Performs additional duties as assigned to support efficient EMS operations
• Represents University Hospital and EMS with professionalism, integrity, and compassion
