Job summary

Garden City Hospital in Garden City, MI, seeks a dedicated Paramedic to join our emergency department team. You will provide direct patient care, communicate with physicians, and respond quickly to changes in clinical condition while adhering to EMTALA requirements.

Requirements include a valid Michigan paramedic license, BCLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC within 90 days, and at least one year of paramedic experience in EMS or acute care.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan paramedic license required.
• BCLS (AHA) certification required upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS required within 90 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS and/or ENPC required within 90 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year as a paramedic in EMS or acute care hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly accountable for patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Comply with EMTALA regulations and reporting of abuse when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• The paramedic is directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department.
• He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment.
• Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies.
• The Paramedic will do other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Michigan.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS and/or ENPC required 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a paramedic in an EMS or acute care hospital preferred.
