Job summary

Garden City Hospital is seeking a Part Time Emergency Medical Technician to contribute to a dedicated, award-winning team focused on quality care. You will assess and manage medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under supervision and provide patient-centered support in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, Basic EMT training or ER experience, current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications and Oklahoma state licensure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience.
• Basic EMT Training or ER experience required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certification current upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS certification current upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for the assessment and basic management of medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the staff nurse and / or physician.
• Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice; Assists in maintenance of a safe environment and performs under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility May Require Items Listed Below)

• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.
