Job summary

Prime Healthcare is looking for a part-time paramedic at Garden City Hospital in Michigan. The paramedic will be responsible for providing care to patients in the Emergency Department, including communication with physicians about patient conditions. Ideal candidates must possess a valid paramedic license from Michigan and various certifications such as BCLS, ACLS, and PALS. Responsibilities

• The paramedic is directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition.
• Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse.

Education

Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Michigan

Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current

ACLS 90 days upon hire and maintain current

PALS and/or ENPC required 90 days upon hire and maintain current

Minimum of one year as a paramedic in an EMS or acute care hospital preferred

Responsibilities

The paramedic is directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department. He / She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. The paramedic is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. The paramedic is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies. The Paramedic will do other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Michigan.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS and/or ENPC required 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a paramedic in an EMS or acute care hospital preferred.
