Job summary

Tenet Healthcare's Delray Medical Center is seeking a Paramedic for night shifts. The Paramedic provides clinical and supportive patient care under supervision, following policy and standards of practice.

Responsibilities include patient transport, vital signs, CPR support, and collaboration with RN/physician. Requires FL Paramedic license, BLS/ACLS, and CPI within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Paramedic licensure in Florida is required for employment.
• BLS and ACLS certifications through approved programs.
• CPI within three months of hire, plus EKG and blood draw competencies within three months.

Responsibilities

• Assists with transporting patients; transports non‑critical patients on cardiac monitors.
• Initiates and repeats vital signs per policy and relays results to RN/physician promptly.
• Assists with confused and/or violent patients.
• Assists with orthopedic procedures, including splinting and immobilization.
• Prepares and sets up procedural trays and items as needed.
• Assists with manual CPR.
• Maintains patient privacy.
• Applies cervical/spinal immobilization as directed.
• Assists with manual bag/mask ventilations.
• Upholds infection control principles.

Job Type: Full Time

Up to $3,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.

The Paramedic is a licensed Paramedic and functions under the direct supervision of the Staff Nurse, Department Director, Clinical Manager of Emergency Department, and physician(s). The Paramedic assists with patient care by performing clinical & supportive functions that he/she has documented competency to perform. The Paramedic adheres to policy, procedures & established standards of practice.

• Initiates and repeats vital signs per policy and relays results to the RN and/or physician in a timely manner.
• Assists with confused and/or violent patients.
• Assists with orthopedic procedures, this to include splinting and immobilization procedures.
• Obtaining and setting up procedural trays and items as needed
• Assists with manual CPR.
• Maintains patient privacy.
• Applies/maintains cervical and/or spinal immobilization as indicated/directed
• Assists with manual bag/mask ventilations
• Utilizes principles of infection control.

Qualifications

Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum education required for licensure as a Paramedic in the State ofFlorida.

Experience
Preferred:One (1) year of Emergency Services experience preferred.

Certifications
Required:

• State of Florida Paramedic License
• BLS and ACLS certification through approved American Heart Association program
• CPI within three (3) months of hire into position.
• Others:Complete blood draw competency within three (3) months of hire into position. Complete EKG competency within three (3) months of hire into the position.
