Job summary

Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, FL seeks a licensed Paramedic to join the Emergency Department team. The Paramedic will support patient care under supervision of the Staff Nurse, Department Director, Clinical Manager of Emergency Department, and physicians, performing tasks within documented competencies.

Required: Florida Paramedic License, BLS and ACLS, high school or equivalent, CPI within 3 months, and EKG/blood draw competencies. Preferred: 1 year EMS experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum education required for licensure as a Paramedic in Florida.
• Preferred: One year of Emergency Services experience.
• Florida Paramedic License required; BLS and ACLS certifications.
• CPI within three months of hire; blood draw and EKG competencies within three months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care by performing clinical and supportive functions within competency.
• Adhere to policy, procedures and established standards of practice.

The Paramedic is a licensed Paramedic and functions under the direct supervision of the Staff Nurse, Department Director, Clinical Manager of Emergency Department, and physician(s). The Paramedic assists with patient care by performing clinical & supportive functions that he/she has documented competency to perform. The Paramedic adheres to policy, procedures & established standards of practice.

Qualifications

Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum education required for licensure as a Paramedic in the State of Florida.

Experience

Preferred: One (1) year of Emergency Services experience preferred.

Certifications

Required:

• State of Florida Paramedic License
• BLS and ACLS certification through approved American Heart Association program
• CPI within three (3) months of hire into position.
• Others: Complete blood draw competency within three (3) months of hire into position. Complete EKG competency within three (3) months of hire into the position.
