Job summary

ECU Health EastCare is seeking a Paramedic to join the ALS transport team in North Carolina. The role involves patient care, stabilization, and intervention per Medical Director protocols. You will work as part of a team and may act with independent judgment when medical command is unavailable.

Requirements include a Paramedic program graduate, NC EMT-P certification, and BLS; ACLS and PALS are required before orientation. 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) with ECU Health benefits is included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate from an approved Paramedic program is required.
• Current NC Paramedic certification (NC EMT-P) is required; BLS certification.
• ACLS and PALS required prior to orientation for EastCare.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and stabilization for ill and injured patients.
• Work as part of the care team, following Medical Director standards and protocols.
• Deliver care on ALS transport with ECU Health EastCare, using independent judgment when medical command is unavailable.

Position Summary

The Paramedic functions as a member of the care team and participates in the care of ill and injured patients. Responsibilities include patient care, incorporating stabilization, and intervention techniques consistent with standards and protocols approved by the Medical Director. The Paramedic functions as part of a team and shares responsibility for the team's conduct. The Paramedic fulfills education skill requirements as established by the Medical Director, and performs other duties as assigned.

EastCare

The Transport Paramedic function as a member of the ALS transport team and is responsible for the care of the ill and injured patients transported by ECU Health EastCare. Responsibilities include patient care, incorporating assessment, stabilization, and intervention techniques consistent with standards and protocols approved by the Medical Director. The Transport Paramedic is expected to execute independent judgment, in order to deliver appropriate care that is consistent with the clinical protocols, when contact with a medical command physician is not possible. The Transport Paramedic functions as part of a team and shares responsibility for the team's conduct. The Transport Paramedic fulfills education and experiential requirements as established by the ECU Health EastCare Medical Director, and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required - or higher.
• VMC Paramedic: Graduate from an approved Paramedic program is required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support, Current certification by the State of North Carolina as a Paramedic is required (NC EMT-P Certification)
• Additional EastCare: American Heart Association ACLS and PALS prior to completing orientation

Pay Range

$21.53 - $31.38
