Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Paramedic (EMT-P) to provide initial medical contact in the Emergency Department triage area. The role requires maintaining safety and delivering compassionate care under ED supervision.

You will perform basic airway management, IV access as requested, and assist with patient transport when needed. A valid Florida EMT-P license and current BLS/ACLS are required, with PALS within 6 months and PHTLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Florida EMT-P Licensure/Certification.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• PALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PHTLS certification preferred.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial medical contact in the triage area of the Emergency Department.
• Maintain a safe environment and provide compassionate care to patients and family members.
• Collect blood samples and/or obtain IV access only at the request of the triage RN or ED team leader.
• Provide initial medical services including basic airway management and spinal stabilization; transport as needed under supervision.
