Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of a Paramedic (EMT-P) program.
• Florida paramedic licensure.
• Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card.
• Current AHA ACLS card.
• Current AHA PALS card within six months of start date.
• Proficiency with MS Office and other applications related to role.
• Ability to detect dysrhythmias and notify the assigned nurse.
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Excellent customer service and English language skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Completes twelve lead EKGs and initiates monitoring.
• Starts oxygen therapy and administers meds as directed by RN.
• Inserts IV/IO, maintains IV fluids, and documents infusion site status.
• Transports unmonitored or stable monitored patients as needed.
• Assists physician or RN with procedures; applies dressings; follows PPE and safety regulations.
• Maintains room and work area cleanliness; serves as a customer service champion.
• Administers ACLS medications when licensed practitioner is present.
• Performs defibrillation and cardioversion when licensed practitioner is present.
