About BioLife Plasma Services

Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changing medicines. Here, a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the role

Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changing medicines. Here, a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician, familiar with industry regulations, and supports environmental, health, and safety (EHS) at the center.

How you will contribute
  • Determine donor eligibility, including managing informed consent, medical history, physical exams, blood tests, and reviewing SPE.
  • Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
  • Refer complex medical or technical issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
  • Support vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and refer to occupational health or EHS as needed.
  • Support pandemic response initiatives if authorized.
What you bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including recognized nursing program and state licensing as EMT-Paramedic.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • State-specific requirements for IV therapy.
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for Medical Support Specialist.
  • At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Location: Portland, OR. Hourly wage: $25.00 - $34.38. Benefits include insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more, with actual wages depending on experience and qualifications.
