Job Summary And Qualifications

Provides direct and indirect nursing services to the patient under the supervision of the professional nurse and performs tasks necessary to the functioning of a unit of the department.

• Performs direct patient care as assigned by the RN and reports observations, results of procedures, and patient needs to appropriate person.
• Performs psychomotor skills as outlined during educational training and orientation process (see Critical Skills Checklist).
• Maintains responsibility for cleaning, stocking, and organizing of storage areas.
• Documents pertinent data in concise and timely manner.
• Demonstrates the ability to respond to emergency procedures.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Vocational School Graduate required.
• Paramedic (EMT-P), or Emergency Medical Paramedic (EMP) - required.
• 1+ year acute care hospital experience required.

Medical City Plano opened in 1975 and provides Plano and Collin County with advanced health care. It is a 600+ bed hospital with over 2,000 employees and 1,400 physicians. The hospital offers various specialized services including cancer treatment, cardiovascular programs, bariatric surgery, wound care, and inpatient rehabilitation, among others.
