SHIFT: Night Shift (7pm-7am)

JOB TYPE: PRN

FACILITY TYPE: 16 bed Small-Format Hospital (8 ER, 8 Inpatient)

The purpose of this position is to provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet individual patient needs throughout assigned areas.

  • Collect, report, and document clinical data. Take vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, and collect specimens.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing per policies, procedures, COLA, and CLIA regulations.
  • Assist with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse/designee, based on the patient’s plan of care.
  • Provide superficial wound care.
  • Ensure patient safety related to age and condition.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment, adhering to aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge.
  • Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations/procedures or assist with treatments.
  • Maintain supplies in patient care areas.
  • Assist with patient restraints, monitor precautions, and document related data.
  • Travel to all facility locations as required.
  • Attend staff meetings and mandated trainings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or GED required, plus one of the following:
    • Completion of Medical Corpsman program with one year of applicable experience, OR
    • Completion of EMT-P, AEMT, or Licensed Paramedic course with one year of applicable experience, OR
    • Completion of EMT-B and 1+ years of ER technician or hospital experience (Oklahoma, North TX, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania markets), OR
    • First-year nursing education with current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program and one year of applicable experience, OR
    • 3+ years ER experience as an ER Technician (Pittsburgh market preferred), OR
    • 3+ years as a CNA with relevant hospital experience (Wisconsin market), OR
    • 3+ years as a Certified Anesthesia Tech/OR Tech (Wisconsin market).
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required.
  • Current ACLS/ALS certifications preferred (required in some markets).
  • Current PALS certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with IV starts, phlebotomy, and EKG initiation preferred.
  • Fluency in English required, both written and oral.
