Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Paramedic (EMT-P) to provide initial medical contact in the ED triage area, assist with basic airway management, IV access and patient transport as directed by the ED team.

Required: High school diploma, Florida EMT-P licensure, current BLS/ACLS; PALS within 6 months of hire; PHTLS preferred; valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Nonexempt, full-time, 12-hour shifts.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Experience as a Paramedic preferred. Must be proficient in English; must have the ability to read, write, and speak in English.
• Current Florida EMT-P Licensure/Certification is required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required. PALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current PHTLS certification is preferred.
• Must have and maintained a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic policy.

Responsabilidades

• The Paramedic (EMT-P)'s primary responsibility is to provide initial medical contact in the triage area of the Emergency Department. This includes maintaining a safe environment and providing compassionate care to patients and family members. The EMT-P will collect blood samples and/or obtain IV access only at the request of the triage RN or the ED team leader. The EMT-P will also be expected to provide initial medical services including basic airway management, spinal stabilization and transportation to ill or injured persons if requested through a code 250 or code blue activation as outlined in the code policy under the supervision of the ED Medical Director.
