Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as a Paramedic preferred.
• BCLS – Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
• ACLS required upon hire.
• PALS – required; new paramedics to specialty must complete within 6 months.
• Licensed Paramedic: GA state license required upon hire.
• National Registry license preferred.

The Paramedic participates in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of health‑care services and tasks. The role of the Paramedic Nurse Extender also includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, and oversight of unlicensed personnel.

• PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support: Paramedics new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date (within 120 days) – Required
• LP – Licensed Paramedic: Current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia Upon Hire Required
• LP – Licensed Paramedic: Current certification as a Paramedic in the National Registry – Preferred
