Job summary

Piedmont is seeking a Paramedic in Georgia to support age-appropriate and culturally sensitive care. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician, maintaining safety and educating patients and families.

The role involves participating in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of healthcare delivery, with opportunities for growth within Piedmont's expansive Georgia network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 year of Paramedic experience preferred.
• Current GA Paramedic certification required; National Registry preferred.
• BLS Certification required.
• ALS/ACLS and PALS required if working in the Emergency Department.
• Paramedics new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date.
• Experienced ED Paramedics will have 6 months to obtain the PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care.
• Maintains a safe environment and educates patients and families.
• Performs assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
• Supports patient advocacy, teaching and performance improvement.
• Oversees unlicensed personnel as assigned.

Responsibilities

The Paramedic, under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse and/or Physician is responsible for facilitating age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Paramedic participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of health care services and task. The role of the Paramedic Nurse Extender also, includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, and the oversight of unlicensed personnel.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Minimum Experience Required

1 year of experience as a Paramedic preferred.

Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law

Current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia required, National Registry preferred

BLS Certification required

Additional Qualifications

If working in the Emergency Department, ALS/ACLS and PALS required

(Paramedics new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)

Experienced Emergency Department Paramedics will have 6 months to obtain the PALS certification.
