Job summary

Piedmont Newnan Hospital seeks a Paramedic Nurse Extender to support RNs and physicians in delivering age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care in a safe environment.

Under supervision, you will assist in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, advocate for patients, teach, and oversee unlicensed personnel.

This role requires current Georgia paramedic licensure, BCLS/ACLS/PALS, and a commitment to patient education, performance improvement, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required upon hire (PALS within 6 months).
• Licensed Paramedic in Georgia required; National Registry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care under RN/Physician supervision and maintain a safe environment.
• Educate patients and families, collect information, communicate effectively, and participate in planning and delivery of care.

The Paramedic participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of health care services and task. The role of the Paramedic Nurse Extender also, includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, and the oversight of unlicensed personnel.

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a Paramedic Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support BLS Certification Upon Hire Required and
• ACLS Upon Hire Required and
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Paramedics new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date within 120 Days Required and
• LP - Licensed Paramedic Current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia Upon Hire Required
• LP - Licensed Paramedic Current certification as a Paramedic in the National Registry Preferred
