Job summary

AdventHealth in Hendersonville, NC is seeking a licensed Paramedic to join our Emergency Department team. You will provide safe, effective patient care in the ED, perform assessments, assist with treatment, and document interventions with accuracy while supporting patient flow and communication with care teams.

The ideal candidate holds PARA certification, BLS, ACLS, and at least 1 year of related experience, and can work the night shift.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid paramedic license (PARA) and BLS/ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year of related work experience in emergency care.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

Job Description

• Assists licensed clinical staff in providing safe, effective patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Provides patient care and clinical support within the scope of paramedic training, certification, applicable protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Assists with emergency patient assessment, treatment, monitoring, specimen collection, transport, and documentation as directed.
• Supports patient flow by preparing rooms, stocking supplies, transporting patients, and assisting with procedures as appropriate.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, emergency responders, and members of the healthcare team.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and ready work environment by following infection prevention, safety, and departmental standards.
• Documents patient care activities, observations, and interventions accurately and timely.
• Delivers compassionate customer service to patients and families.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
