Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Paramedic in the Emergency Department to join our team.

The role coordinates and supervises professional nursing care, applies the nursing process, participates in case management, and supports performance improvement; travel is not required.

Qualifications

  • ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • NRP certification required
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

  • Achieving professional goals set during previous evaluation period
  • Applies the nursing process to a group of patients
  • Participates and facilitates in the case management process and cost containment for patients
  • Cooperate with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations
  • Demonstrates accountability for direct patient care and evaluation of patient outcomes
  • Documents all aspects of patient care efficiently and effectively
  • Assigns and/or delegates patient care assignments to licensed and non-licensed nursing staff
  • Demonstrates professional practice and always conducts
  • Participates in Performance Improvement as appropriate
  • Demonstrates critical care skills for managing acutely ill patients
  • Completes other duties as assigned

Job Summary And Qualifications

  • Demonstrates critical care skills for managing acutely ill patients.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP)
  • Certificate
  • High School Graduate / GED
