Qualifications

Job description

We Are Hiring
  • Department: Emergency Department
  • Schedule: 9a-9p, 12-hour shifts once off orientation, every other weekend and rotating holidays
  • Hospital: St. Joseph Hospital
  • Location: Milwaukee, WI
What You Will Do

Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients.

  • Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction of, and in collaboration with, a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
  • Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and treatment as appropriate.
  • Provide population-specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
  • Inspect, maintain, and care for equipment to ensure the safety of the transport team, patients, and the public.
What You Will Need

Licensure/Certification/Education:

  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Driver's License credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
