Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking a Paramedic for full-time work across Northern/Central Riverside County, including Riverside, Moreno Valley, and Corona. The role centers on delivering high-quality basic and advanced patient care with professional, cost-conscious service.

Responsibilities include on-scene assessment, use of defibrillators and medical equipment, patient transport with safety protocols, and coordination with receiving facilities.

Qualifications

  • Paramedic license and active certifications are required.
  • Must meet driving and DMV-based certifications for ambulance operations.
  • NIMS/ICS training completed per FEMA guidelines where applicable.

  • Operate defibrillator, ECG monitor, oxygen, suction, IV, CPR, and medications.
  • Utilize triage skills to maintain efficiency on calls.
  • Provide patient care per clinical protocols and safety requirements.
  • Lift and move patients as needed for optimal care.
  • Communicate with receiving facility for direction and critical information.
  • Perform other duties per formal job description.

Paramedic (Full Time)

Northern/Central Riverside County Cities

Locations: Riverside, Moreno Valley, Corona

POSITION SUMMARY:

The mission and purpose this position is to compassionately deliver high-quality service and basic, as well as advanced patient care in a professional, caring and cost-effective manner.

Paramedic Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assess each call situation to determine best course of action and appropriate protocol.
  • Utilize medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, CPR and other procedures and medications as required to provide advanced medical care.
  • Develop and utilize triage skills to provide optimal efficiency during calls.
  • Paramedic will provide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements.
  • Lift and move patients as required to provide optimum care.
  • Communicate with receiving facility to receive medical direction and to provide critical information.
  • Other duties as defined by the formal job description
Paramedic Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Licensing/Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • CA Drivers’ License
  • Ambulance Driver’s License (from DMV)
  • Medical Examiner’s Card or DL51 (from DMV)
  • State of California Paramedic License
  • CPR Card (American Heart Association ONLY, Health Care Provider. Hand written cards are not acceptable)
  • ACLS Card (American Heart Association ONLY, hand written cards are not acceptable)
  • PALS (American Heart Association ONLY, hand written cards are not acceptable) OR PEPP (only required for Riverside & Ventura Co. applicants)
  • Driving record in compliance with AMR Safety and Driving policy proof required if conditional employment is made

Experience:
  • Some past work experience, preferably in healthcare desired.

This position is bonus eligible.

Salary Range: $28.90 - $40.40 DOE (This rate applies to 12-hour shift and average 42 per week)
