Job summary

AMR in Palm Springs, CA is seeking a Paramedic for full-time or part-time roles to deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency medical services. The position emphasizes advanced patient care, adherence to clinical protocols, and cost-effective service delivery.

Required qualifications include a California Driver’s License, Ambulance Driver’s License, Paramedic license, CPR/ACLS/PALS, and IS-100B/200B/700A/800B courses. Prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
• CA Driver’s License, Ambulance Driver’s License from DMV, and Medical Examiner’s Card or DL51.
• State Paramedic license and CPR/ACLS/PALS (AHA) required; PEPP optional for some regions.
• PHTLS or ITLS preferred within the first 6 months of employment.
• Must maintain driving record per AMR safety policy and complete ICS courses.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine the best course of action and protocol.
• Use defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, IVs, CPR and medications for advanced care.
• Develop triage skills to maximize efficiency during calls.
• Provide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements.
• Lift and move patients as needed to ensure optimal care.
• Communicate with receiving facility for direction and critical information.
• Other duties as defined by the formal job description.

POSITION SUMMARY

The mission and purpose this position is to compassionately deliver high-quality service and basic, as well as advanced patient care in a professional, caring and cost-effective manner.

Paramedic Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assess each call situation to determine best course of action and appropriate protocol.
• Utilize medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, CPR and other procedures and medications as required to provide advanced medical care.
• Develop and utilize triage skills to provide optimal efficiency during calls.
• Paramedic will provide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements.
• Lift and move patients as required to provide optimum care.
• Communicate with receiving facility to receive medical direction and to provide critical information.
• Other duties as defined by the formal job description

Paramedic Minimum Qualifications:

• PHTLS or ITLS Preferred at time of hire (Must be acquired within the first 6-months of employment for Riverside County)
• Driving record in compliance with AMR Safety and Driving policy(proof required if conditional offer of employment is made)
