Job summary

Global Medical Response seeks a Paramedic for full-time work in Compton, CA. The role emphasizes compassionate, high-quality patient care with both basic and advanced procedures. You will lead on-scene operations and respond to 911 calls, driving the ambulance and coordinating with health and safety teams.

Applicants must hold CA paramedic credentials, CPR/ACLS/PALS/PEPP where applicable, and a valid CA driver’s license, with a clean driving record and required safety certifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; valid CA driver’s license.
  • Ambulance Driver’s License and Medical Examiner’s Card.
  • CA Paramedic License; CPR/ACLS/PALS/PEPP as required.
  • Driving record must comply with McCormick/AMR safety policy; proof may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess each call situation to determine best course per protocol.
  • Utilize Paramedic skills with defibrillator, EKG, oxygen, suction and IV fluids.
  • Communicate with patients and families to provide information and reassurance.
  • Act as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit as needed.
  • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
  • Collaborate professionally with allied health and public safety personnel.

Paramedic (Full- Time)

POSITION SUMMARY

We’re hiring Paramedics that are passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality service and basic, as well as advanced, patient care to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
  • Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
  • Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
  • Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
  • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
  • Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Education/Licensing/Certification:
    • High school diploma or equivalent (GED
    • Ca Drivers’ License
    • Ambulance Driver’s License (from DMV)
    • Medical Examiner’s Card
    • State of California Paramedic License
    • CPR Card (AHA ONLY, Health Care Provider. Hand written cards are not acceptable
    • ACLS Card (AHA ONLY, hand written cards are not acceptable
    • PALS Card (AHA ONLY, hand written cards are not acceptable) or PEPP
    • Driving record in compliance with McCormick/AMR Safety and Driving policy proof required if conditional employment is made
    • ICS courses
      • IS-100B (ICS 100)
      • IS-200B (ICS 200)
      • IS-700A (NIMS)
      • IS-800B (NIMS)

Salary Range: $22.39 - $24.98 DOE (This rate applies to a 12 and 24 hour shift.)
