Job summary

AMR in Santa Monica, CA is seeking Paramedics to provide compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care to our customers.

Responsibilities include leading on-scene operations, operating critical equipment (defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, IV fluids), and driving the ambulance on 911 responses while collaborating with public safety personnel.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid California Driver's License and Ambulance Driver’s License.
• Current Medical Examiner’s Card and State Paramedic License.
• CPR, ACLS, and PALS/PEPP certifications required.
• Proof of driving record per safety policy and ICS/NIMS certificates (ICS 100/200, IS-700/800).

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while following Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize paramedic skills and equipment including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, and IV fluids.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide information and reassurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage the scene and unit when needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Collaborate professionally with allied health and public safety personnel.

POSITION SUMMARY

We’re hiring Paramedics that are passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality service and basic, as well as advanced, patient care to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED

• Ambulance Driver’s License (from DMV)
• Medical Examiner’s Card
• State of California Paramedic License
• CPR Card (AHA ONLY, Health Care Provider. Hand written cards are not acceptable)
• ACLS Card (AHA ONLY, hand written cards are not acceptable)
• PALS Card (AHA ONLY, hand written cards are not acceptable) or PEPP
• Driving record in compliance with McCormick/AMR Safety and Driving policy (proof required if conditional employment is made)
• ICS courses

Salary Range

$22.39 - $24.98 DOE (This rate applies to a 12 and 24 hour shift.)
