Job Description

This position offers a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible employees.

General Overview

Provides emergency medical care to sick and injured patients in the prehospital environment; effectively communicates with all involved parties and departments in emergency medical care.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%)
2. Determines the nature and extent of illness or injury; provides basic and advanced life support during treatment and transport. (50%)
3. Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
4. Maintains equipment and inventory, including BLS and ALS supplies, and is accountable for medications on each EMS unit per standards. (15%)
5. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED, or related experience/training, or equivalent.
• 5 years relevant experience for Prehospital Response Unit and current preceptor status.
• Medical Command eligible.
• PA certification as Paramedic or licensed PHRN.
• Valid Driver's License.
• EMSVO, ACLS, PHTLS/ITLS, PALS certifications within specified timeframes.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Act 34, 33, and 73 background clearances.

Preferred

• Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician, ICS certifications, ABLS, and ASLS.
• One year experience with AHN EMS.
