This position offers a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible employees*

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides emergency medical care to sick and injured patients in the prehospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in emergency medical care.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Drives emergency response vehicle. (20%)
2. Determines the nature and extent of illness or injury; provides basic and advanced life support during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%)
3. Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
4. Maintains equipment and inventory, including BLS and ALS supplies, and is accountable for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)
5. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

• High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent education and experience.
• For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years relevant experience and current preceptor status.
• Medical Command eligible.
• PA certification as Paramedic or licensed PHRN.
• Valid Driver's License.
• EMSVO certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ITLS/PHTLS certification within 2 months of hire.
• PALS certification within 30 days of hire.
• CPR certification – American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred:

• Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician, ICS 100, 200, IS 700, 800, ABLS, and ALS certifications.
• One year experience with AHN EMS.
