Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking Paramedics for AHN Medical Transport. The role involves providing emergency medical care in the prehospital environment and coordinating with medical staff to ensure patient safety during treatment and transport.

Qualified candidates will have PA Paramedic licensure or EMS Compact Privilege, 5 years of relevant experience for the Prehospital Response Unit, and current preceptor status, plus ACLS/ITLS/PHTLS and related certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status.
• Medical Command eligible.
• PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PHRN.
• One year experience (AHN EMS).
• Required licenses and clearances listed in the application section.

Responsibilities

• Drives emergency or response vehicle.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provides basic and advanced life support during treatment and transport.
• Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS; accountability for medications on every EMS unit.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

(20%)* Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%)* Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards.
